Georgetown Field of Honor

By Linsey Thut | November 7, 2017

This week you’re invited to join the city of Georgetown and the Rotary Club of Georgetown in honoring our Central Texas veterans and soldiers at the first ever Georgetown Field of Honor, presented by Don Hewlett Chevrolet.

The Field of Honor has an amazing display of over 1400 U.S. flags standing in tribute to veterans, active and reserve duty military, and first responders. You can purchase a flag in honor of a loved one at the field.

You’ll also find a display on the evolution of the American flag from the 1776 Grand Union flag to our current flag that was created in 1960.

Look closely for the super important 28-Star flag created when Texas joined the Union in 1845!

From Nov. 5-12, there will be all kinds of events — from luncheons to live performances — honoring these heroes. The week concludes with the Patriots Ball on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 and First Responder Day on Sunday, Nov. 12. The proceeds from the ball will benefit local military personnel, veterans, first responders and their families. Purchase your tickets here.

It’s sure to be an amazing event paying tribute to incredibly brave folks. Find the full schedule of events at
