Amber Harner of Pflugerville, TX!!!!
Congratulations on winning a year’s free subscription to Texas Highways, the official travel magazine of Texas. If your name is not Amber Harner, don’t worry about it. You can subscribe HERE.
Thanks to all the folks that entered the contest. I’m now completely overwhelmed with new ideas for things to do in Texas during December. And just in case you are looking to expand your list, here were the top results….
1. Looking at Christmas Lights – while the activity was the same, the locations of choice we very diverse and included everywhere from inner-city Houston to Johnson City in the Hill Country. Another favorite was the Zilker Tree in Austin.
2. Small Town Nativities – seems that lots of folks love to visit Burnet, TX for the annual Main Street Bethlehem display. Check it out HERE.
3. Shopping – Oh yes, the great holiday past time of buying presents for everyone from Aunt Mabel to Fido. But the favorite spots to do it were the San Marcos Outlets and Canton.
4. Being With Family – always a winner for sure.
And of course there were some outliers like “playing tennis”, visiting Big Bend, and spinning in circles under the Zilker Tree until you throw up all Hot Cocoa and Cookies you just ate. I can’t recommend the last one.
But no matter how you fill your December, I hope it’s full of wonderful times, wonderful folks, and lots of wonderful memories.
Vaya Con Dios and Keep on Trippin’
