Show takes home an Emmy!

Andrew Chet Richie Emmys

The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced winners of the 10th Annual Lone Star Emmy Awards at a grand gala at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX.

‘The Daytripper with Chet Garner’ took home a Lone Star Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Magazine Program – Series, for its Marfa, TX episode. The Emmy award was presented to Chet Garner (Producer), Richard Lozano (Producer) and Andrew Ramsammy (Producer).

“It truly is an honor to be recognized for a third year in a row.” said Chet Garner. “Of course, we don’t do this job for awards, but the recognition feels pretty great. It’s a testament to the hard work of the crew and the long hours we put in traveling Texas and seeking out authentic stories. We couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors, PBS stations, and our fans. Here’s to many more day trips to come!”

The show is currently in its fourth season and can be seen on PBS stations throughout the state of Texas. The show was nominated for a total of three 2012 Lone Star Emmy Awards including Texas Heritage – Program/Series and On-Camera host.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, founded in 1957, is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It recognizes excellence in television with the distinguished Emmy Award. The statewide Lone Star Chapter serves all 19 television markets in Texas, and includes members from TV-related fields including: news and non-news broadcasting; production; post production; education; advertising; and public relations.

I got to rock it on San Antonio Living

This past Friday, I had the chance to head down to San Antonio and chat with Shelly Miles on NBC’s San Antonio Living. LIVE TV is crazy. I make a show that I get to process, edit, and make funny, even if I’m not. LIVE TV is a totally different beast. And the host Shelly Miles is a real pro to make me look eloquent, even when I’m floundering and would ramble for years. Watch the Video below.
